Documents to bring

All students

  • valid piece of identity
  • many passport size photos (at least 4 black and white for police headquarters, and 4 for ESTP, subway pass)
  • several birth certificates issued no more than 3 months before arrival
  • to rent a private accommodation in town : documents vouching the parents' income.

 

Students from the European Economic Area (EEA)

  • Health Insurance form E111 or E128 or European health insurance card obtained from the home center.

 

Students from outside of the EEA

  • Visa long sejour (long stay)
  •  For a stay of more than 3 month they have to take a student health insurance in France (Sécurité sociale étudiante) document to provide : birth certificate with French translation

Administrative formalities

Student ID card

Upon their arrival at ESTP, students will be given a student identity card that will give them access to university restaurants and enable them to get discounted rates for many activities, such as cinema, concerts, museums,...

 

French national authorities

All foreign, non EEA, students registered at ESTP, including the students in the framework of the international exchange programmes, must regularise their situation at Police Headquarters (Préfecture de Police) when requesting for a "carte de séjour". The international relations department of ESTP will assist them.

To apply for a carte de séjour, foreigners will need to present the original of the following documents and have photocopies ready to leave with the office :

  • Valid passeport
  • An attestation from the housing office or flat owner
  • 2 copies of registration at ESTP (handed out upon arrival when confirming the registration)
  • Record of financial resources: scholarships certificates, attestation that financial needs are being covered
  • A birth certificate issued no more than three months before
  • 3 identity-type photographs
  • The Prefecture may require applicants to provide a certified French or English translation of all documents.
  • Once the application is complete, student will be required to pass a medical examination.
