The flagship programme to address the major challenges of sustainable construction

Facing profound transformations in the sector – environmental transition, new materials, industrialised construction processes, and regulatory requirements – the ESTP Graduate School of Engineering Programme trains engineers capable of managing complex, sustainable, and innovative projects in France and internationally

The program's ambitions

Combining science, technology, civil engineering, and management, the programme develops a systemic and agile approach. Through project-based learning, students acquire transversal, operational, and responsible skills. The objective is to prepare professionals capable of anticipating and supporting technical, digital, societal, and territorial transitions.

The program's structure

The curriculum is structured around scientific, technical, and managerial courses, enhanced by a strong environmental and digital dimension. Project-based learning, practical work, real-life simulations, and internships ensure progressive professionalisation. Students learn to design, dimension, manage, and assess construction projects at every stage of their life cycle. The approach integrates tools such as modelling, BIM, life-cycle assessment, and environmental simulation. The programme concludes with a real-life professional situation assessed by a jury of industry professionals.

Work experience

Three compulsory internships in France or abroad:

Year 1: practical internship – minimum 6 weeks
Year 2: technical internship – minimum 9 weeks
Year 3: final-year project (TFE) – minimum 24 weeks

The TFE enables students to apply acquired skills to a concrete project. All internships longer than 44 days are remunerated in accordance with French law. ESTP supports students in their search through its corporate network, career fairs, and dedicated platform.

Year 3: possibility of a professionalisation contract on the Dijon, Orléans, and Troyes campuses.

Certification/assessment methods

Competency validation is based on project-based learning integrated throughout the programme. Practical work, case studies, simulations, and team projects ensure continuous formative assessment. A final project, presented before a jury, mobilises acquired knowledge around a real sector challenge (carbon footprint assessment, construction innovation, environmental analysis, etc.). Internships in France or abroad anchor these competencies in real professional contexts. The programme prepares students for a high level of operational autonomy and responsibility

International opportunities

A compulsory one-semester international mobility period is required. It may take place in Year 2 or Year 3 through an academic exchange, or in Year 3 as part of a dual degree or final-year internship.

Funding and everyday life

Because funding should never be a barrier to ambition, ESTP offers personalized support and a wide range of solutions accessible to all profiles. Scholarships for academic excellence, assistance from the ESTP Foundation, public programs (CROUS, Erasmus+), partnerships with companies or banks, paid internships, work-study programs, assignments through the Junior Enterprise… everything is done to enable everyone to build their career path with confidence. Our goal: to give you the means to move forward with peace of mind, from the first day of your training to your entry into the workforce.
