Managing construction and rehabilitation works in the infrastructure sector

The ESTP Public Works Engineering programme trains engineers capable of managing major infrastructure projects such as roads, civil engineering structures, networks, and earthworks, while fully integrating environmental and societal challenges.

The program's ambitions

Designed to meet the growing needs of the sector, this programme trains operational, responsible, and autonomous professionals committed to ecological transition and construction innovation.

The program's structure

The Public Works programme is delivered over three years in a work-study format, with a progressive school/company rhythm. The curriculum covers scientific fundamentals (mechanics, hydraulics, topography), Public Works-specific techniques (roads, structures, networks, earthworks), project management, safety, construction law, and sustainable development. Teaching is action-oriented and based on group projects, real-life case studies, site visits, professional supervision, and a gradual increase in on-site responsibilities.

The program's advantages

Training delivered in partnership with ECIR, a specialist in infrastructure and networks, ensuring practical and professional-oriented learning.

Work experience

The Public Works programme is delivered entirely in a three-year work-study format, following a progressive rhythm:
1 month at school / 1 month in the company in Year 1, then
2 months / 2 months,
3 months / 3 months,
up to 6 consecutive months in the company in the final year.

Certification/assessment methods

Degree validation is based on continuous assessment, semester evaluations, supervised projects, activity reports, and oral defences. Progress in the host company is also assessed each year. At the end of the programme, students write a professional dissertation defended orally before a jury of academics and industry professionals. Validation of the 180 ECTS credits, attendance, and engagement in company assignments are required to obtain the Public Works Engineering degree.

International opportunities

A minimum international experience of 12 weeks is compulsory during the programme. This may take the form of an internship or a professional assignment abroad. Depending on opportunities, academic exchanges may also be considered.

Funding and everyday life

Because funding should never be a barrier to ambition, ESTP offers personalized support and a wide range of solutions accessible to all profiles. Scholarships for academic excellence, assistance from the ESTP Foundation, public programs (CROUS, Erasmus+), partnerships with companies or banks, paid internships, work-study programs, assignments through the Junior Enterprise… everything is done to enable everyone to build their career path with confidence.
