Low-Carbon Construction Project Manager

Low-Carbon Construction Project Manager

NEW

BUILD A FUTURE AS A LOW CARBON MANAGER

Reducing the climate impact of new buildings, by taking account of all building emissions over its lifespan, as from the construction phase, is an essential factor in reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

Resorting to construction principles which emit few greenhouse gas emissions or which store carbon, such as bio-based materials, requires new skills and construction processes, which can be developed with the help of the synergy between ESTP and the ESB.

Under such special circumstances, all construction stakeholders are affected by this environmental goal and are turning towards new approaches. Yet, building “differently” involves developing new skills and inventing new processes.

From real-estate planning to on-site implementation and property management, the use of multiple construction materials, including bio-based materials, with the implementation constraints inherent to each, and managing the interfaces between these materials, and new construction principles, generate a significant need for training.

ESTP and ESB offer the joint-issuance of the new post-Master’s Low-Carbon Construction Project Manager” degree which is currently in the process of receiving the Specialised Master’s label from the Conférence des Grandes Écoles

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

The objectives of the course are to train professionals to carry out their duties in all stages of a low-carbon construction project (housing, tertiary, equipment, logistics, mixed, etc.) for new builds and rehabilitation projects.

They will pay special attention to the appropriateness of the technical solutions chosen and implemented in respect of:
- general decarbonisation-related issues in the construction industry,
- the company’s low-carbon strategy,
- compliance with the budget, regulatory constraints or the requirements of the targeted label or quality of use

SKILLS TARGETED

- Roll out an action plan to comply with the company’s low-carbon strategy
- Propose solutions to improve user comfort
- Optimise a construction project by organising an innovation process
- Manage a low-carbon project team to develop shared solutions
- Assist with project management in the response to the programme to promote the use of low-carbon products
- Lead a design project and meet the multi-material/multi-criteria requirements and constraints of low-carbon buildings
- Prepare a multi-material construction site
- Lead a low-carbon construction site in compliance with commitments and procedures.

THIS PROGRAMME WILL TRAIN FUTURE PROFESSIONALS AND EXECUTIVES IN THE TASKS OF:

Project management
- Low-carbon real-estate programme manager or developer
- Low carbon project management assistant

Technical and architectural design
- Low carbon manager/consultant for an architecture firm
- Low carbon manager for a supervising office,
- Low carbon business manager,
- Low carbon works engineer, etc.
