The Construction Research Institute of ESTP brings together the driving forces of research across its campuses in Cachan, Dijon, Orléans, and Troyes.
Each team addresses a key challenge for sustainable construction, smart and resilient cities, the energy transition, or digitalization, working in direct connection with real-world needs and the evolution of the sector.
This team studies, designs, and develops low-impact and innovative materials, in line with circular economy principles. Its research covers formulation, characterization, and recycling, with a strong focus on low-carbon concrete, bio-based and geo-based materials, and sustainable manufacturing processes.
Research focuses on the behavior of construction systems across multiple scales (material, component, structure), integrating soil-structure interactions, climate hazards, and the hydromechanical properties of geomaterials.
Specialized in 3D modeling, spatial data, and geographic information systems, the team conducts research on digital twins, georeferencing, photogrammetry, and BIM integration for infrastructure management.
This team investigates the integration of renewable energies, smart buildings, and future electrical networks. Research topics include energy performance, smart grids, and automated equipment management.
At the interface between technical design and project organization, this team focuses on project management methods, risk assessment, quality, and performance in construction operations. It also contributes to the evolution of project ownership practices and construction site management.
Based on the Troyes and Orléans campuses, these teams explore automation, robotics, sensor-based monitoring, and real-time supervision of construction sites. Their objective: to make worksites safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.
From the Dijon campus, this team takes a systemic approach to urban territories, combining climate adaptation, resilience, mobility, resource management, and sustainable infrastructure to design the city of tomorrow.
The team develops digital and systemic approaches for smart buildings, leveraging artificial intelligence, digital twins, and connected buildings to enhance performance, sustainability, and user experience.
To address the new challenges of the ecological and digital transitions, ESTP is actively strengthening its research teams.
Several positions are currently open (faculty, PhD candidates, research engineers, technical staff), as part of a strategic effort to expand across all campuses.
Below you will find the contact details of team leaders and faculty members of the Construction Research Institute of ESTP. Feel free to reach out to them for discussions or collaboration opportunities.
