Equal opportunities

Diversity and equal opportunities are key assets for organisations which want to develop and extend their reach internationally. The construction industry is hiring increasing numbers of women and offers them excellent career prospects in this sector.

ESTP is actively seeking to encourage applications from motivated, confident women. 30% of the student intake is now made up of women keen to make their mark in building a sustainable world, and numbers are constantly rising.

school committed to gender equality

In 2013, ESTP became a signatory of the Charter for Gender Equality developed by the Conference of Grandes Écoles (CGE), the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools  (CDEFI), the Union of French University Vice Chancellors, the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and the French Ministry for Women’s Rights.

Work carried out by ESTP to raise awareness earned it a nomination in the category of the school most committed to gender equality at the 2018 CDEFI women in engineering awards (concours Ingénieuses 2018 de la CDEFI).

A school leveraging women’s networks

ESTP is involved in several networks to help prepare women for the challenges of the working world and to inspire them on their career journey:

ESTP au Féminin: this network, coordinated by the ESTP Graduate Engineers Society (SID-ESTP), offers networking opportunities for women students and alumnae via cultural trips and professional challenges (Prix ESTP au Féminin)..

ellesbougent: this network encourages young women to make aspirational academic and career choices, notably by entering professions which are traditionally considered to be a male preserve. Women students can become peer mentors and meet younger girls to offer guidance in their academic choices, or build networks with professional women working for over one hundred corporate partners.
