DOUBLE DEGREE | ARCHITECT-ENGINEER

Shaping the main urban lines of the future, supporting the development of attractive territories, building towards the development of social ties, the preservation of built assets or innovations that meet new practices: these are the major and exciting roles that will be played by tomorrow’s professionals with dual expertise in architecture and engineering.

At the junction between design and construction, art and science, take part in a top-tier dual curriculum and train in a rare a sought after profession in France and Europe: become an architect-engineer.

PROGRAMME

The Architect and Engineer (IA) programme offers a new approach to teaching these disciplines in France, in collaboration with the ENSAPLV (AI PLV) since 2006 and with the ESA (AI ESA) since 2015. It provides a response to the competition between major European universities and brings together two complementary and key entities in the construction sector.

Engineering classes are provided at ESTP on the Cachan campus in dedicated rooms intermittently associated with the post-competitive examination Engineer and Architect (IA) programme. Integrated scientific preparation is provided in an independent AI class during the first three years of the bachelor’s cycle. Architecture classes are provided by each school of architecture, based on the choice made by the applicant on Parcoursup.
 

INTERNSHIPS

Bachelor’s and Master’s internship depending on school of architecture, “works supervisor” internship via ESTP in the 6th year 
 

DIPLOMAS

Upon completing the Curriculum, ESTP issues an Engineering degree accredited by the French "CTI" and the school of architecture issues a State Architecture degree equivalent to Master’s level.

ADMISSION

Architect and Engineer (AI): Admission via the Parcoursup platform. A number of applicants will be selected for a selection interview with the chosen schools of architecture, with an ESTP teacher present.

37 spaces with ENSAPLV et around 30 with ESA (variable)

Length of studies : 7 years + 1 optional year (HMONP)
