Welcome to the ESTP Paris libraries website

Welcome to the ESTP libraries website

the documentary collection

The documentary collection specialises in the fields of construction, civil engineering, architecture and urban planning. It also includes other topics connected with the school’s courses and the skills our students aim to develop: basic science, business administration, management, foreign languages, human sciences, economies, etc.

The collection is composed of technical and scientific monographs, encyclopaedias, specialised and general periodicals and Master’s theses, along with a number of works of fiction

access to the collection

Searches are carried out via a documentary catalogue called Flora, which is accessible to everyone and enables users to find specific, high-quality works. As a result, the library was awarded the CollEx “City: architecture, civil engineering and urban planning” label in 2017.

Students currently studying at the school and ESTP’s permanent staff also have access to a good many digital resources (including newspapers, eBooks, and documentary databases). To access them, authorisation is required and is connected to your Office 365 account. You are sent an email at the beginning of the year or after your employment, specifying access procedures.

All ESTP students and staff can make use of the libraries’ services. Their student or professional card may be requested in order to benefit from loan services and access to certain areas.

Alumni can also consult and borrow documents under certain conditions: contact us to find out about the required procedures.

Outsiders conducting research in the field of construction may also consult documents upon appointment.

What exactly is Flora? What is an online catalogue?

⚫ The Flora catalogue is shared between ESTP’ campuses and the Arts et Métiers centres. Therefore, when you make a search, you can find documents located on the various ESTP campuses and Arts et Métiers centres. If you wish to carry out a search in the ESTP collections only, you will need to select the campus you require in the advanced search settings.

Opening hours – Closing days

Lending conditions & extending loan periods

⚫ Whenever you borrow a document, please present your student or professional card at your library’s reception desk.

You can borrow the following at the same time, for a period of twenty days:

> three books
> three magazines
> three handouts
> a language textbook (TOEFL, TOEIC, GRE) (upon provision of a deposit cheque)
> two DVDs
> five eBooks

Extending a loan period | Requests for extending loan periods may be made:

> At the reception desk
> By telephone: 01 49 08 56 50 (Cachan), 03 73 62 02 50 (Dijon) and 03 25 78 55 00 (Troyes)
> By email | bibliotheque.cachan@estp.fr (Cachan), bibliotheque.dijon@estp.fr
(Dijon) and bibliotheque.troyes@estp.fr (Troyes)

Extensions are only possible if another reader or project group is not waiting for the document concerned (i.e. if it has not been reserved) or when the loan is already late.

Loans and deposit cheques

Provision of a deposit cheque to the sum of 75 euros, made out to ESTP, is obligatory for:

> Students in their final year,
> When borrowing a language textbook (TOEFL, TOEIC, GRE, etc.),
> Alumni wishing to borrow documents.

The cheque will not be cashed and will be returned to you when you return the borrowed works.

If you do not retrieve your deposit cheque, it will be destroyed at the end of its legal period of validity: one year.

What are the consequences in the event of a late return?

They are the same on all campuses.

If a document is returned late, penalties in days of prohibition to borrow will be applied. X days of lateness = X days of prohibition to borrow.

Beyond three months of lateness without a valid reason (e.g. long illness), further sanctions will be applied independently of the borrower’s status.

Loss of a book

Please contact the librarians in order to define procedures for replacing the lost document (repurchase of the book by the reader, cashing of the deposit cheque, etc.).

What computer tools are available?

The Libraries’ computer stations are reserved in priority for documentary searches. You will need a computer ID in order to log on. IDs are provided by the DSI.

Wi-Fi is available under the same conditions.

Do I have access to a photocopier ?

There is a mopier in the Cachan Library. Scans can only be made upon request.

In Troyes and Dijon, you can use the equipment available in the reprographics rooms.

It is illegal to make hard or digital copies of students’ work.

I can’t get to the Library

Documents may be returned by an individual other than the borrower, or by post.

If the Library is closed, documents can be returned to the Troyes and Dijon reception, or directly through the letterbox on the Cachan Library’s door.

If you are ill, a special extension is possible provided that you inform the staff of the fact and communicate the necessary proofs to an authorised member of the school staff
